What is a production unit?

How Tunni measures video production, why it follows generated seconds, and what a unit is not.

This article describes how Tunni is designed to work. Commercial terms are pending legal review; the approved Terms and Refund policy will take precedence.

A production unit is how Tunni measures finished, checked video production. It is not a token, a credit wallet or cash. Each plan includes a number of units per billing period, shared across your whole organisation.

Units follow newly generated motion

The expensive part of making a reel is generating new motion footage. Your original product footage, composites, captions and static end cards do not add generation cost. So a quote looks at how many seconds will be newly generated, not how long the final video is.

  • 1 unit — Standard hybrid reel. A 20–30 second reel with up to 8 newly generated motion seconds, one creator, one language, one aspect ratio, captions and a supported recipe.
  • 2 units — Extended hybrid reel. A supported output with up to 16 newly generated motion seconds.
  • 3 units — Fully generated 24s. A supported, fully generated 24-second output.

Example: a 26-second reel that uses 6 seconds of your own pouch footage, 12 seconds of composites and static layers, and 8 seconds of newly generated creator footage is quoted at 1 production unit.

Every piece of work is quoted first

Before production starts you see the quote: units, generated seconds and total length. Nothing is consumed until you approve it. A second language, a different aspect ratio, a new creative version or extra generated footage is a new quote — you will always see it before anything runs.

What a unit is not

  • Not one video of any complexity. Longer generated footage uses more units.
  • Not a planning slot. Planning slots cover ideas and scripts, not finished video.
  • Not transferable or refundable as cash.

Running low

There is no automatic overage. If you need more in a period you can buy top-up units at ₹1,299 each (prices exclude applicable taxes). Top-up units are valid for 90 days from purchase. Included plan units expire at the end of each billing period.
